The relationship between man and tree is considered to be of particular spiritual importance, for example by the assumption that the trees in the plant kingdom occupy the place occupied by humans in the animal kingdom, from where a correspondingly effective connection between humans and trees comes. Therefore it is obvious that the trunk in the Füssener Land not only gives names to most trees on their own properties, but also to striking trees in their environment, such as the trees at the Baumgarten (with names from old legends and myths) or the trees at the Lechuferweg (with names of goddesses from all cultural regions).
